I'm Sorry That I've Been Gone So Long!!!!!!

I guess that there is no excuse but I'm going to give you one anyway.  I've been hunting too much!!!!!!  It's been a busy year and a half with the new shop and getting all of the hunts lined up for the next year that I simply didn't have time to set down and update the website like I should have.  The good news is that I have a bunch of new material to post.  We have done everything from hunting in the Bering Sea for King Eiders to Mozambique for Cape Buffalo.  It will take me a little while to get all of this stuff on the site but bare with me, it's coming........

New Website Coming!!!!

Gunners Taxidermy Inc. has separated into two businesses.  The hunting  portion of Gunners Taxidermy Inc. will now be called Gunners Outfitters, LLC..  A new website is coming soon and will outline in much more detail the hunts that are offered.  We will be expanding the hunts to include Whitetail Deer, Alligator and Waterfowl as well as the Turkeys hunts that we already offer.  These hunts will be listed here on the Gunners Taxidermy Inc. website as well as the new site for Gunners Outfitters, LLC..  Kerry Jones of Bowling Green Kentucky will be a partner in this venture and he is a welcome addition to the Gunners network.

  Here's What We're Doing Next.....

We will announce our next hunt or next competition that we will attend on this page.  Also, any new happenings will also be posted.  You never know, YOU could end up on this page!!!

'09 Hunts

Hunts are starting to book up early and because it's hard to coordinate all of this mess and keep things organized and the quality where it should be, we are now taking bookings for our hunts in the 2009 season.

Results of the Hunt

Here we'll show the pictures of the successful hunters and maybe some of the not so successful ones. (I hope not).

Well, the Blind Hog does find an Acorn....

My hunting buddy Alex Randal of Fallbrook Horse Farm took a really nice buck on the opening afternoon of bow season.  He and I had been looking at this buck all summer.  He has planted food plots and we also had feeding stations with cameras and it was neat to watch this deer grow and get bigger.  I was filming him on the first afternoon and after seeing about 25 deer the two big boys showed up.  Alex made a good shot and the rest is history.  And he's in full velvet!!! Good deer Alex!!!!

'08 Elk Hunt Tough on First Season.....

The boys in the High Country had a tough time this year but there were plenty of opportunities and some nice bulls were around.  We had some misses and some misjudgments but it was still a hell of a good time.  Most of the hunters this year were first time Elk hunters and I'll tell you Dorothy, this ain't Kansas.  Whitetail hunters sometimes have a hard time making the change to hunting out west but it's all a learning process and these guys learned a lot and were still successful.  With any luck they will be back next year....

3rd Season Makes it Count........

The weather wasn't cooperating but the 3rd season hunters made it happen when it counted.  Finally on the 4th day we had some snow come in and the Elk started moving.  In one day we managed to take 8 Elk.  3 Bulls and 5 Cows.  We had a hell of a time getting all of those Elk loaded in the truck and to the meat house.  The hunt was a little disappointing though, no Mulies were taken.  We did see a few but the winter kill last year must have been hard on the Mule Deer population.  The few that we saw were smaller deer and we didn't lower our standards just to fill a tag.  That's the way to go guys......

Alaska Duck Hunt Totally Awesome!!!

If you think that you have seen bad weather you are just kidding yourself.  For 3 straight days we watched the wind blow, and I mean 50 mph plus, and total blizzard conditions.  We were able to hunt a little the first day and then basically the last day but we connected on our King Eiders.  Birds were everywhere but the problem was you couldn't hunt for the conditions.  16 to 20 foot breakers hitting the beach is not conducive to getting in a duck boat and going for a ride.  This hunt is not for the weak of heart but it is one for the die hard waterfowler.

Costa Rica for Awesome Fishing ...........

A few of my buddies and their wives took an adventure to the coast of Costa Rica and discovered a paradise.  After flying into Liberia, we were transferred to the coast to the Grand Papagayo Resort by Occidental that was to be our home for the week.  There was a lot to do outside the resort but our main concern was to fish.  The ocean currents were not in our favor but we still managed to catch some trophies and bring back a couple of memories that won't soon be forgotten.  If you're interested in such an adventure, contact Gunners and we can make all of the arrangements.
