Hunt The Most Beautiful Game Bird There Is....

The Ocellated Turkey is arguably the most gorgeous game bird in the world.  With a blue head accompanied by red and yellow "warts" to the emerald wings to the iridescent blue spots trimmed in copper that the bird is named for, there is no equal.  This is a very difficult bird to hunt because of the habitat it lives in but Jorge Sansores and the folks a Snook Inn have it all figured out.  After trying to get to a bird on the roost in predawn conditions, the knowledgeable guides will move you to a Maze field to "call in" a bird.  These birds will respond to a whistle that the hens will make and actually most birds will be taken in the Maze fields.  This is a hunt that you must make the most of your opportunities when you have them if its on the roost or in the Maze fields or wherever.  Gunners has sent 21 hunters to hunt for the Ocellated Turkey and we are about 160% to date.  You may see other wildlife while hunting the Ocellated Turkey such as Jaguars, White-lipped Peccary, Coatimundi, Brocket Deer or Yucatan Whitetail Deer.  This is an unbelievable hunt that you will remember for a lifetime.  We have the best week of the season because the birds usually begin to "sing" on this week.  Singing is what the Ocellated Turkey does instead of gobbling. 

Special Bow Season!!!

For all of you avid bow hunters, Jorge has designed a special bow package that will give you the opportunity to harvest your Ocellated Turkey and join the World Slam Team.  The hunt will take place on a UMA that is not hunted by shotgun hunters at any time of the hunting season.  You will be placed in double bull blinds or makeshift blinds that are positioned near the feeding areas of the Ocellated Turkey.  These hunts take place in February and March because the birds are still in large flocks which allows the bowhunter numerous opportunities to harvest his or her tom.

Pricing;  Cost of hunt is $3250.00 with extra birds priced at $450.00. The Price is the same for bow hunters or shotgun hunters. Price excludes cost of transportation, gratuities and some travel expenses.  You do not have to bring your own guns as price of the hunt includes the use of Snook Inn's firearms.  Price also includes the CITES permits for import/ export of your trophies and a permit will accompany each tag.  USDA information will also accompany each permit.
